This is a placeholder for our Belize adventure. I’m currently writing the official travel guide and I can’t wait to share it with you! Until then, check out some tidbits below.
Before we had our son, my husband and I were avid travelers. But we were both working full time and my husband was constantly traveling. It felt like the only time I actually saw him was when we were traveling….so I may have planned a few extra trips each year. One year, we found out that he would be home for Thanksgiving, so I started googling. Along came a Thanksgiving package for the Chaa Creek Lodge in Belize. I was sold!
We flew into Belize City, spent a few hours in a bumpy van and then comfortably settled into our thatched roof hut. Did I tell you this place was AMAZING? Seriously, the delicious food, the spillover pool, the activities. It was the best. We spent our days off exploring. We swam and climbed through caves to see calcified bones from ancient rituals, crossed the border to Guatemala to marvel at Tikal and went horseback riding through the fields (with no helmets). When people ask me my top 5 trips, Belize is on the list!
